In today’s world, nearly all real estate listings are exported out of the MLS database into third-party vendor websites like Zillow.com, Realtor.com, Homes.com, etc.

Where your Northern Michigan home’s info will export to depends on who your real estate broker is cooperating with. For Coldwell Banker Fairbairn Realty listings, maybe your Mackinaw City home, for example, has the potential to be placed on hundreds of websites beyond our own proprietary site, and even more sites if it is considered a “Global Luxury” property by our Coldwell Banker corporate office.
Luxury properties are featured on these sites:
- Coldwellbankerluxury.com
- The New York Times
- Homes.com
- RobbReport
- Mansion Global
- Unique Homes
- The Wall Street Journal
- HomeFinder.com
- ListHubGlobal
The goal of sharing your listing’s information with these sites is to cast the widest net possible to reach qualified buyers. Most Inland Waterway homes on Burt Lake and Crooked Lake will be exported to a Global Luxury syndicated site. Petoskey and Harbor Springs homes have to meet a certain dollar figure to export to those sites. But again, all listings will export to the most popular sites where homebuyers are shopping.
Because listings export to third-party sites, it is extremely important that your agent has accurate information entered into the MLS and has taken high-quality, professional photos. Your listing must be presented with the “best foot forward” from the very beginning. Coldwell Banker Fairbairn Realty agents are conscious of this and pride themselves in excellence.
When you work with us you will also find that we contract with The Real Estate Book (aka Exclusively Northern Michigan Properties) to print our listings in their magazine, released periodically throughout the year. Our listings then “auto-magically” (as the owner puts it) find their way onto numerous more websites. In addition, that is, to the 591 physical locations throughout Michigan where the magazines are placed.

Our partnership with The Real Estate Book also provides our listings with a mobile agent. Every listing we have, whether or not it was advertised in the print publication, is ready to be sent to buyers through the mobile agent platform. Buyers can text requests for more information and the platform will quickly send them your listing.
