Become a Licensed Michigan Real Estate Salesperson

Embarking on a career in real estate can be an exhilarating journey filled with potential for financial success and personal growth. Below we highlight the essential information you’ll need to know to become licensed as a Michigan Real Estate Salesperson.

The State of Michigan requires that Salesperson candidates complete 40 hours of state-approved pre-licensure education prior to taking a state licensing exam.

The pre-licensing exam must be passed with a minimum of 70% and can be taken as many times as necessary.

Michigan has contracted with several instructors to provide approved courses. The courses can be completed either online or in person. Students receive a certificate of completion/ passing their pre-licensing course. Students then will typically have 6 months to 1 year to complete and pass their pre-licensing exam.

The exam is currently being proctored through PSI where candidates register to sit for their exam. Once the exam is passed, PSI will contact the State of Michigan to get your license to you. Prospective licensees are not required to have a broker to register and take the exam however, before practicing real estate they must have a sponsoring broker. Would we be a good fit for you?
