-Little Traverse Conservancy
The Little Traverse Conservancy has preserved the Black Hole Nature Preserve, expanding protection along the Pickerel-Crooked Channel.
From the article:
“We feel tremendously blessed to have the opportunity to partner with LTC and PCLA to protect the last section of northern shoreline in the Pickerel-Crooked Channel. Looking back over two decades – starting with LTC and PCLA’s 2005 campaign to secure the majority of this northern shoreline – our community has come together and done something truly amazing in protecting the waters and wetlands of the Black Hole. We share our thanks and gratitude to everyone who helped make this possible!” – Oliver and Ana Schwab (Who we are proud to say we have represented as our clients. In fact, we just sold 6025 Summerside Drive in the Eagle Beach Association for the Schwab’s as of today).

Black Hole Nature Preserve
On the north side of the Crooked-Pickerel Channel is the Black Hole Nature Preserve. It is found in the Eagle Beach Home Owner’s Association. Here, things to do include birding, wildlife watching (deer, snowy owls, sandhill cranes), and scenic views. This area offers quiet enjoyment for visitors on 3,900 feet of combined waterfront on both Crooked Lake and the Crooked-Pickerel Channel.
The Black Hole is a gorgeous place to stop and fish or enjoy lunch from your boat.
